Calendar 2012 Challenge - Kate Crane
Happy New Year everyone. I started the Calendar challenge over at the Kathryn Wheel Blog last year but with so much illness in the family I gave up as it was depressing and upsetting.
I'm hoping this year will be a better one, so I'm trying again. Used spray paints on this one. The colours don't look very good as the light was really bad when I shot this. Thank you for looking.

Some Inky Frosty Christmas Cards!
This one was done by masking with a string of beads, a reindeer and star. Spray paints and mica spray paints with glitter dust added before they dried.
Again I masked with a die cur heart and a bird.
Thank you for looking and for any sweet words you leave me.

Wedding Guest Book - Mixed Media
I've been so busy this week making Christmas Cards and other projects too. This Wedding Guest Book is for my nephew's Wedding next Sunday. It's really been a meeting of minds, Faiths and cultures as my nephew is English and a Christian, his fiancee is Indian and Sikh. The Wedding will take place at the Temple in the morning, with a big party afterwards.
They asked me to make them a Guest Book and here it is.
It started off being made from natural hand made paper with leaves impressed into the paper but as the colours for the Wedding are traditional red and gold I decided to bling it up a bit.
I cut 2 pieces of thick card in the heart shape and 4 pieces of the handmade paper adding 1/2" all round. I glued the 2 sandwiches adding some layers of tissue to the outside of each cover to bulk it out a bit. I stitched around both covers and added some extra stitching in places. I was going to stop there but it looked a bit boring!! I started spraying with 2 bottles of mica spray in red and yellow to add some pep to it. I finished with a gold mica to add accents.I used my hole punch and book rings with ribbons and hearts to finish. I've edged all the inner pages with gold and added pockets inside the book for a Guest list and any other souvenirs.

Christmas Tags and toppers!
Here's a Christmas mixed media tag I made using photograph paper, spray inks and a dusting of glitter dust for the background. I did 2 sheets to save time and then cut them for use as tags and card topper backgrounds. I added the quote, stick on snowflakes and the thread to finish. This one is some LLB cardstock put through the embossing folder then sprinkled with embossing powder. I added it to a tag card made by cutting a square card blank in half so it is still folded. This makes a stand alone Tag card.
Hope you like them, more to follow. Thanks for looking and leaving me your words of encouragement.
