This one was done by masking with a string of beads, a reindeer and star. Spray paints and mica spray paints with glitter dust added before they dried.
Again I masked with a die cur heart and a bird.
Thank you for looking and for any sweet words you leave me.
I love to experiment and try different media together. I'll post here when it works and if it doesn't!! For my scrapbooks and papercrafts please pop over to my other blog www.apaintaholicsprogress.blogspot.com

Wedding Guest Book - Mixed Media
I've been so busy this week making Christmas Cards and other projects too. This Wedding Guest Book is for my nephew's Wedding next Sunday. It's really been a meeting of minds, Faiths and cultures as my nephew is English and a Christian, his fiancee is Indian and Sikh. The Wedding will take place at the Temple in the morning, with a big party afterwards.
They asked me to make them a Guest Book and here it is.
It started off being made from natural hand made paper with leaves impressed into the paper but as the colours for the Wedding are traditional red and gold I decided to bling it up a bit.
I cut 2 pieces of thick card in the heart shape and 4 pieces of the handmade paper adding 1/2" all round. I glued the 2 sandwiches adding some layers of tissue to the outside of each cover to bulk it out a bit. I stitched around both covers and added some extra stitching in places. I was going to stop there but it looked a bit boring!! I started spraying with 2 bottles of mica spray in red and yellow to add some pep to it. I finished with a gold mica to add accents.I used my hole punch and book rings with ribbons and hearts to finish. I've edged all the inner pages with gold and added pockets inside the book for a Guest list and any other souvenirs.

Christmas Tags and toppers!
Here's a Christmas mixed media tag I made using photograph paper, spray inks and a dusting of glitter dust for the background. I did 2 sheets to save time and then cut them for use as tags and card topper backgrounds. I added the quote, stick on snowflakes and the thread to finish. This one is some LLB cardstock put through the embossing folder then sprinkled with embossing powder. I added it to a tag card made by cutting a square card blank in half so it is still folded. This makes a stand alone Tag card.
Hope you like them, more to follow. Thanks for looking and leaving me your words of encouragement.

More journal pages!
My BP was skyhigh with all the stress I was under when I did this page. The head is from a Dylusions Download, the body, arms, legs and boots I drew and cut out myself. She doesn't have any hands on purpose. I mis-spelled the word control but decided to leave as is.
Did these to show my love of letters and words.

Another A5 Canvas Journal Cover!
Here is another A5 journal cover, hope you like it.
I started by applying paint with a baby wipe in white and pale yellow then spray painted with Dylusions spray paints in orange and red while it was damp through my flower stencil.
I left this to dry and gave another quick misting of worn leather Dylusions in places. I made a heart shape from part of the canvas and glued some tissue onto the reverse. I then glued the heart onto the book. I used my artistic stamps to stamp the words Inspire and Create cut out and glued them to the book cover. I turned a 1/4" seam and glued the cover to an A5 book. To finish I glued the first and last page of the book over the canvas on the inside cover to hide it.
Thanks for looking.

Journal Cover after Kate Crane's tutorial!
I was impressed with Kate Crane's tutorial in the September Craft Stamper which uses rolled canvas as a support. Here's my first attempt at making a cover for my A4 Journal.
I used a photograph of my eyes and glued them to the head on the front cover.
And here's the back cover.
I didn't print my photo onto the canvas but chose to mod podge my photo onto the canvas tag. I really like the effect of it.
Kate's tutorial was really great and easy to follow as are her DVD's. Hope you like it and thank you so much for looking and leaving me your comments.
